Governor Ron DeSantis says that in Florida, they’re huge believers in vocational education and the skilled trades. But unfortunately, many students are told they have to go to college or they won’t be successful.

Here, he points out how that isn’t the case—and outlines steps that Florida is taking, like encouraging participation in apprenticeships and certificate programs, to help students prepare for lucrative careers in the trades while they’re still in high school.
