About Kelsey

Few policy organizations are concerned with truly impacting people’s lives for the better—FGA is one of them. At FGA, the person behind the policy is just as important as the policy itself. We’re not just changing laws, we’re changing lives.

Kelsey Philie was the communications director at the Foundation for Government Accountability, where she served as lead writer and editor and managed the organization’s content production.

Prior to joining FGA, Kelsey served as the communications director at the Grassroot Institute of Hawaii, a free-market think tank based in Honolulu, Hawaii. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a focus in Communications from Villanova University.

Kelsey’s first experience with the power of work came in her high school job as a grocery store cashier, where she learned that few people work harder than those in the service industry and the dignity that comes with any job. She is motivated by those who have the grit to transform their lives and is proud to play a small role in sharing their stories, both through her work at FGA and in her volunteer efforts with various military and veteran organizations.

Kelsey is a lover of the outdoors, a workout junkie, an avid reader, and a die-hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. She and her husband currently reside in Georgetown, Texas, but call home wherever the Army takes them.

At FGA, we don’t just talk about changing policy—we make it happen.

By partnering with FGA through a gift, you can create more policy change that returns America to a country where entrepreneurship thrives, personal responsibility is rewarded, and paychecks replace welfare checks.
