Medicaid Redeterminations Aren’t Just The Law — They’re Critical For Montana

The media’s portrayal of states’ efforts to reduce Medicaid enrollment in Montana following the pandemic has been about as accurate as Yellowstone’s portrayal of life in Big Sky Country: entertaining, perhaps, but nonsense.
Leaders like Gov. Greg Gianforte and Charlie Brereton, the Director of Montana’s Department of Public Health and Human Services, have been unfairly portrayed as coldhearted when they have been simply following the law that was designed to protect the safety nets for the truly needy of Montana.
