Growing up in a big family from humble beginnings, Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin learned the value and dignity of hard work at an early age. Now as Governor, he carries that idea with him, working to transform welfare programs from destinations into temporary waystations by creating an environment that incentivizes work. When welfare is a dead-end, people are robbed of the better opportunity to work and do for themselves.
