Rep. Ellen Troxclair (R-TX) receives FGA’s Legislative Champion Award

Naples, FL—The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) presented Texas State Representative Ellen Troxclair with its Legislative Champion Award.

Rep. Ellen Troxclair is a proven leader in Texas on sound budgeting, property tax cuts, limited government, and promoting the value of work. Last session, Rep. Troxclair led efforts to bring transparency to students seeking postsecondary education in the Students’ Right to Know legislation that was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott. She also led efforts to ban universal basic income programs from expanding cash welfare programs that bust government budgets and discourage work.

“Rep. Troxclair has been a tireless leader for transparency and a strong advocate for students and families,” said Allen Cambon, State Government Affairs Director at FGA. “Her work on the Students’ Right to Know law and the universal basic income ban ensures the next generation of Texans will be more informed, harder working, and better prepared to lead their state and nation.”

“Rep. Troxclair’s strong, clear voice on the most important issues facing Texas sets an example for policymakers across the country,” add Cambon.

FGA’s Legislative Champion Award recognizes a national leader and policymaker who advances legislation that reduces barriers to work and promotes self-sufficiency and dignity for individuals and families.
