What do you do in the wake of a hurricane?
For those of us who live in Southwest Florida, you rebuild. That long and difficult process started late last week, as the two of us and millions of others returned home after Hurricane Ian pummeled our communities. We made our way past mile after mile of shattered homes, downed trees and power lines, huge pools of standing water, malfunctioning traffic lights, and abandoned cars. Floridians need all the help we can get to build back stronger.
But much of the media had a different post-hurricane reaction—one focused on a political hit job, not helping struggling people.
