Ensuring Fair and Transparent Elections

Reforms to Safeguard Elections

Americans lack confidence in their elections. State and federal policymakers should respond by enacting popular, commonsense reforms to increase voter trust.

FGA’s solutions are the answer. From accurate voter rolls to prosecuting election crimes, the mission remains the same: restoring Americans’ trust in elections and preserving self-governance for future generations.

Safeguarding election integrity means:
  • Cross-checking voter information regularly to help ensure clean voter rolls
  • Requiring identification to vote in person or by absentee ballot
  • Securing ballot drop boxes—or prohibiting them altogether
  • Ending ballot harvesting to make it more difficult for bad actors to submit fraudulent votes
  • Prohibiting the private funding of government election offices
  • Establishing a state-level office to investigate and prosecute election crimes
  • Banning the ranked-choice voting scheme that leads to trashed ballots and delayed results
