Jennine & Dave Dayler, owners of Saloon on Calhoun with Bacon in Brookfield, Wisconsin, work hard to provide both good food and jobs in their community. The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly taken its toll on their business, but nothing like the federal governments’ disincentives to work. Forced to compete with a federal unemployment insurance program that pays better than hard work, the Daylers are in a race against time to keep their business up and running while short-staffed.
