WV Business: Unemployment Bonuses Have Not Built a Better America

For more than 150 years, family-owned Fiesta Tableware has made iconic pottery from their U.S.-based factories in West Virginia. After a two-month shutdown due to COVID-19, Fiesta was able to reopen in May of 2020 while following all CDC safety precautions.

But Director of Human Resources Ralph Smith tells us in this video that since then, unemployment bonuses have made it incredibly difficult to find employees willing to work. Unemployment bonuses have not, he believes, built a better America, but have instead encouraged workers to stay home.
