CARES Act Makes It More Lucrative Not to Work

In an effort to help millions of Americans who were laid off work as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress made it more lucrative NOT to work. Under the CARES Act, unemployment benefits pay more than many were making in their normal jobs—forcing businesses to close and making it more difficult to get people back to work.
