Principles in Action: The Worth Shop

| Joplin, Missouri

Work provides a pathway from dependency to a life of self-sufficiency. At the Worth Shop at Watered Gardens Gospel Rescue Mission, community members in need are given the opportunity to use work to help fulfill their needs. By doing so, they gain much more than food or clothing; they gain self-respect, fellowship, and a life of purpose. Gregg Hull, Director of Project Worth at Watered Gardens, and James Whitford, Executive Director at Watered Gardens, share their passion for helping neighbors in need—by enabling them to help themselves through the power of work.
