Stefani E. Buhajla

Visiting Communications Fellow

I was raised by a single dad who taught me to believe that you really can achieve your dreams if you focus and work hard. Nothing in life is free and anything worth having is worth working hard for. It is a privilege to work with a team that shares these values and advocates for them daily.

About Stefani

Stefani E. Buhajla is a visiting communications fellow at the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA).

Prior to joining FGA, Stefani worked as a political communications contractor with non-profit organizations and political campaigns from the local to federal level. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Arkansas and completed the Social Media Professional program at the University of Oklahoma.

Stefani first experienced the value of work in her youth alongside her mom who was a painting contractor. That experience is something she continued to fall back on throughout her life when money was tight, and she believes everyone should take the time to learn a trade. She credits the transformational power of work with getting her through college and off welfare, but also giving her once-in-a-lifetime experiences she’ll always treasure and showing her that she has value. It’s this perspective that guides her work in and out of the office.

When she’s not working, Stefani is passionate about pro-life issues and helping pregnant women and new moms who are struggling to give their babies a good start without getting trapped in a loop of government dependency. She has also traveled internationally on mission trips and worked closely with organizations that help lift children out of poverty and abusive situations. Her family supports an amazing ministry in Malawi, Africa that runs a group home and rehabilitation program for girls who have been sexually abused or trafficked. She also supports missionaries in Malawi, Guinea, China, and the U.S. and sponsors two kids through Compassion International: Angel in El Salvador and Danielle in Brazil.

A mother of three, grandmother of two, and a proud Arkansas Razorbacks fan, Stefani and her husband Joe live in Richmond Hill, Georgia.

At FGA, we don’t just talk about changing policy—we make it happen.

By partnering with FGA through a gift, you can create more policy change that returns America to a country where entrepreneurship thrives, personal responsibility is rewarded, and paychecks replace welfare checks.
