Work is the best way to reduce dependency for all able-bodied adults, both those without kids and parents. Work requirements can help parents model good behavior for children, ending the cycle of dependency for children growing up in families dependent on welfare. But despite a booming economy, the number of able-bodied adults on food stamps remains near a record-high level. Without any real work requirement, these adults will remain trapped on welfare. It’s time to expand work requirements for able-bodied adults food stamps and end the cycle of dependency.
