After almost a year of lockdowns, Americans come together in the Foundation for Government Accountability’s newest video series FGA on Main Street to call for an end to extended lockdowns and the re-opening of the economy. Throughout the series, small businesses owners and everyday citizens express their concern for lawmaker’s continual focus on short term solutions that limit the spread of Covid-19 at the expense of small businesses.
In some states, small business owners that have recovered from the initial shock of pandemic related lockdowns explain that increased unemployment benefits and government stimulus checks have disincentivized their former employees from returning to work. In communities still waiting for lawmakers to lift lockdown requirements, addiction and suicide have become more common place. Lockdown consequences outweigh the benefits, and voices across America make one thing clear, it’s time to re-open the economy and return to work.
