Naples, Florida—Recent data from the Foundation for Government shows how low-income Utahns can make more from expanded federal benefits than the jobs they lost due to the pandemic. FGA found that these individuals can receive more than $3,693 per month in cash or cash benefits equating to a $21 per hour full-time job salary.
“The federal government grossly overstepped, and federal unemployment bonuses combined with other tax credits and benefits continue to keep American workers on the sideline,” said Tarren Bragdon, CEO of FGA. “With 8 million open jobs, businesses are desperate for workers to fill positions that will keep their doors open. More businesses will be forced to shut down for good if the federal government continues to pay people so much not to work.”
