President Trump Puts Americans Back in the Driver’s Seat and Bureaucrats Back in Their Place

The Foundation for Government Accountability Commends President Trump for Rolling Back Federal Regulations to Reignite the American Economy

NAPLES, FL— Today, the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) commends President Trump for his decisive action to reduce the regulatory burden and restore oversight by revoking key executive orders that fueled the unchecked growth of federal bureaucracy. Under the Biden administration, heavy-handed regulations have cost Americans more than $1.8 trillion, reversing Trump-era policies that had saved taxpayers $280 billion and fostered economic growth. Biden’s approach has empowered bureaucrats with unchecked authority, stifling business innovation and prosperity.

The impact of Biden’s regulatory agenda is staggering. In his first year alone, President Biden finalized 69 major rules and added more than $200 billion in new regulatory costs. The Biden administration finalized $319 billion in new regulatory costs in its first two years. This was more than any other president and nearly 14 times more than President Trump’s first two years. These regulations added a staggering nearly 220 million hours of paperwork, undoing the Trump administration’s work to reduce paperwork by six million hours over its first two years.

Trump reversed the following crushing regulatory executive orders:

  • Executive Order 13992: This Biden order revoked President Trump’s reforms to cut red tape and hold federal agencies accountable, restoring inefficient government oversight that stifles innovation and economic growth.
  • Executive Order 14018, Executive Order 14029, Executive Order 14094: These Biden orders reversed President Trump’s prior efforts to streamline federal regulations and replaced these efforts with bloated government programs, suppressing business innovation.

“President Trump is wasting no time taking on the federal bureaucracy and making good on his promise to deliver America’s Golden Age,” said Tarren Bragdon, President and CEO of the Foundation for Government Accountability. “The 47th president knows that Washington should work for the people, not the other way around. Reversing these crushing Biden-era regulations puts the American people back in the driver’s seat and unelected bureaucrats back in their place.”
