MEDIA ADVISORY: POOR AMERICANS ARE BETTER OFF WITH WORK RULES FOR WELFARE
HOUSE WAYS & MEANS COMMITTEE HOLDS FIRST WELFARE REFORM HEARING IN DECADE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Poor Americans on welfare have seen their incomes more than double thanks to work requirements shows two groundbreaking studies from Kansas and Maine, and the results along with remarks about the impact of work on poverty will be presented to the House Ways & Means Committee today at 10 a.m. EST.
“Lifting Americans out of poverty and helping them return to the dignity of independence is our main priority, and it’s an honor to talk to Chairman Kevin Brady and the members of the House Ways & Means Committee about the power of welfare reform,” said Tarren Bragdon, Foundation for Government Accountability CEO.
