Foundation for Government Accountability Releases Letter in Support of House Bill 11 Alongside 11 Grassroots Organizations
NAPLES, FL – Today, the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA), Americans for Prosperity-Ohio (AFP-OH), and the Pacific Legal Foundation (PLF), alongside 11 additional Ohio grassroots coalitions, released a letter expressing strong support for House Bill 11. This bill, regarding the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, is a critical step towards fostering transparency and accountability in the rulemaking process.
In the letter, the organizations highlighted three key provisions of House Bill 11 that will significantly benefit Ohioans:
- Restoring Accountability and Transparency: House Bill 11 will ensure that any regulation with significant financial impact undergoes legislative approval, preventing unelected agencies from imposing costly rules without oversight.
- Protecting Ohio’s Economy and Taxpayers: By requiring elected representatives to review major regulations, the bill aims to prevent regulatory overreach that could stifle job growth, raise living costs, and harm Ohio’s competitiveness.
- Fostering a Pro-Growth Regulatory Environment: The REINS Act will promote responsible policymaking, safeguard small businesses from undue burdens, and support innovation, investment, and opportunity across the state.
