FGA Urges the House to Pass Historic One, Big, Beautiful Bill

House of Representatives has the opportunity to deliver tax relief, prevent fraud, and uplift hardworking American families

NAPLES, FL – Today, the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) urges the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the historic “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” This landmark legislation fulfills key Trump-era commitments to deliver meaningful tax relief for middle-class and working families. It also represents the boldest welfare reform in American history—transitioning able-bodied adults from welfare to work, cracking down on waste, fraud, and abuse and preserving the safety net for the truly needy. Additionally, the bill enhances border security and gets illegal aliens off welfare and out of the country.

“The One, Big, Beautiful Bill is the centerpiece of President Trump’s America First Agenda and a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unleash the next economic boom and launch our country into a new era of growth,” said Tarren Bragdon, President and CEO of FGA. “Speaker Johnson and the House Republicans did tremendous work to bring the bill to this point.”

“The proposed bill represents a huge leap forward in restoring integrity to our safety net by moving millions of able-bodied adults from welfare to work through commonsense work requirements for Medicaid and food stamps,” Bragdon added. “It also rightly removes 1.4 million illegal aliens from the Medicaid program. By ensuring able-bodied adults reenter the workforce, rooting out fraud and abuse, and refocusing welfare programs on the truly needy, this bill puts Americans on a path to independence and opportunity.”

“This Big, Beautiful Bill makes the Trump tax cuts permanent for the workers and job creators who drive our economy and delivers new tax cuts that the majority of Americans voted for: No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and drastically reduced taxes on seniors,” Bragdon continued. “This is the type of pro-growth policy that, mixed with work requirements, will reinvigorate our workforce, bolster domestic energy production, and maintain our position as the preeminent global superpower.”

“Once again, President Trump and the House have demonstrated their commitment to meaningful reforms that put Americans first and unlock opportunity for everyone,” Bragdon said. “After House passage, the Senate will have the opportunity to do its part to make this bill as beautiful as possible.”
