FGA Files Amicus Brief to Protect School Choice in Michigan

NAPLES, FL— Last week, the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court of the United States case, Hile v. Michigan. In the amicus, FGA argues that the Court should grant certiorari on this case and allow the Hiles to argue their case.

The brief cites multiple studies that show how school choice policies consistently result in positive outcomes for students of all backgrounds. School choice gives parents the ability to make the best decision for their children’s education, saves taxpayer dollars, and is preferred by parents. Contrary to misconceptions about school choice, it improves school outcomes for all students, even the most disadvantaged.

“The United States is the land of opportunity, but for too many young learners, educational options are strictly limited by their ZIP code,” said Ryan Young, Legal Fellow at the Foundation for Government Accountability. “We support parents who want the opportunity to have a choice in their child’s education, and we are honored to support the Hile family as they take their fight for students and parents to the U.S. Supreme Court.”
