FGA Applauds HUD’s Commitment to Work

Naples, FL – The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) commends the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Secretary Ben Carson for their commitment to moving able-bodied adults from welfare to work.

Continuing the Administration’s support for policies that move Americans off the sidelines and back into the workforce, HUD proposed legislation this week that allows public housing agencies to establish minimum work requirements for able-bodied adults on the program.

Support for such a policy is strong. A recent poll found that 81 percent of voters support work requirements for able-bodied adults receiving public housing benefits.

The Foundation for Government Accountability is a non-profit, multi-state think tank that specializes in health care, welfare, and work reform. To learn more, visit TheFGA.org.
