New executive order addresses red tape that stands between families and owning a newly constructed home.
NAPLES, FL – Today, the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) released the following statement in support of President Trump’s new executive order that addresses and removes many of the regulatory hurdles Americans must overcome when trying to affordably build a new home.
“Too often, red tape, burdensome environmental reviews, and delays drive up costs and make home construction unnecessarily expensive,” said Averel Meden, Senior Fellow at FGA. “President Trump is once again putting America First by tackling these barriers head on, encouraging new building, leveling the playing field, and putting the American Dream of homeownership back within reach for families across the country.”
Additional Information
FGA supports President Trump’s mission to make homeownership more affordable, including his crackdown on institutional investors and his prioritizing American citizens in federal housing programs. Op-eds in support of these efforts have appeared in Washington Examiner, Fox News, and RealClearPolitics.
The Center for Excellence in Polling surveyed likely voters on affordability and found that Americans support measures to make homeownership more affordable. Ninety-three percent of likely voters say that the cost of living and the cost of housing in the United States are too high. Regulatory changes related to building new houses had bipartisan support.
