More than two-thirds support requiring states to verify whether an individual is truly eligible for Medicaid before approving them for benefits (67%) and conducting a reverification of eligibility before renewal of benefits (72%).

Survey results also show broad support for measures that would implement eligibility cross-checks:

68%

…support checking the eligibility of people on Medicaid more frequently and with better technology to help ensure those receiving benefits are still eligible.

65%

…support restricting individuals who commit fraud from receiving Medicaid benefits for six months if they refuse to report income changes as required by law.

Further, more than half of voters do not Medicaid funding should be used to provide public housing to able-bodied, working-age adults (52%).
