Secretary of State’s Spring Cleaning of Voter Rolls is a Success

Only living, breathing, legal Montanans vote in Montana elections, right?

That was the question Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen set out to answer—and answer it she did.

Through a partnership with the Trump administration, Secretary Jacobsen filtered Montana’s voter rolls through the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) system to verify citizenship and identify voters who have died. The result? Twenty-three voter records were flagged as likely belonging to non-citizens, and roughly 900 voter records were identified as belonging to deceased individuals.
