On January 12, Gov. Kim Reynolds of Iowa gave her ‘State of the State’ address, highlighting the struggles and successes of this past year. FGA released the following statement in support of her leadership.
Gov. Reynolds has been a tireless advocate for Iowa workers and families, keeping the doors of schools and businesses open through extraordinary challenges in 2020. Because of a solid economic foundation and strong leadership from Gov. Reynolds, Iowa has one of the lowest unemployment rates and one of the healthiest unemployment trust funds in the country. The state bests nearly all of its neighbors in real GDP growth, has protected business through comprehensive business liability protection, and has the most flexible occupational licensing laws in the country.
In uncertain times, Iowa has a leader who is proactive, not reactive, and plans ahead for the betterment of her state. Other governors could learn from Gov. Reynolds’s example.
