The Department of Health and Human Services is set to release a final rule that will mandate job reviews every five years for career federal scientists who work for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other agencies. The Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) released the following statement in support of this upcoming rule.
“COVID-19 taught us an important lesson about the need for transparency and accountability at all levels of government,” said Josh Archambault, Senior Fellow at FGA. “To ensure that our top scientists are focused on science, not politics, it’s important that we hold reviews of federal-level scientists the same way we do in the private sector.”
