Kristi Stahr

Communications Special Projects Manager

I learned early on that any problem can be turned into an opportunity. We simply do not have to be defined by our circumstances or past struggles. With solution-oriented policy organizations like FGA, we can move the ball forward to empower one another to achieve the American Dream.

Kristi Stahr is the communications special projects manager at the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA).

Prior to joining FGA, Kristi served as an enterprise project manager for the State of Arkansas and as the chair of the Pulaski County Board of Election Commissioners. In addition, she has more than a decade of public policy, government affairs, election administration, and criminal justice research experience. Kristi hopes to complete her doctorate someday in Criminology from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Kristi first experienced the value of hard work while waiting tables throughout college and graduate school to help pay for her education and living expenses. To her, work means more than just surviving—it means striving for more than you had yesterday.

In 2016, Kristi was appointed by Gov. Asa Hutchinson to the Arkansas Electronic Recording Commission, and in 2019 she was elected and appointed to the Pulaski County Board of Election Commissioners to administer elections in Arkansas’s capital. In 2018, Kristi was named as one of AY Magazine’s Intriguing Women of Arkansas, and in 2019, she served on a bipartisan government reform committee in Little Rock.

Kristi has worked in legislative policy reform for more than a decade, first through election reform in 2013, then as an agency legislative liaison in government affairs drafting bills and advocating for information technology reforms for the State of Arkansas. In 2021, Kristi worked alongside legislative leaders in the drafting and passage of the Election Reform Package for the 93rd General Assembly.

When she’s not working, Kristi enjoys volunteering for children’s advocacy organizations, traveling, and spending time with her family. Kristi, her daughter Bailey, and her husband Zach currently live in Florida with their two Yorkies, Luke and Grace.
