Shannon Alford is a government affairs director at the Foundation for Government Accountability. Prior to joining FGA, she served as a state liaison for the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action from 2012- 2018, where she lobbied on behalf of NRA in five states. Previous to her time at NRA, she served as senior staff to the House Minority Leader in the Maryland House of Delegates, providing legislative analysis and communications support for the caucus.
Shannon has also worked on various federal and state political campaigns in Maryland. She holds a B.A. in political science from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two daughters. In her spare time, she practices the Israeli martial art of Krav Maga and has won over a dozen blue ribbons from her local county fair for homemade jams, jellies and preserves.
