Too often the voice of the voters is relegated to Election Day and not heard in the policy process. Where the voters’ voice is absent, the void is filled by special interests. FGA values the voice of citizens and wants to ensure elected officials hear that voice loud and clear in between elections.
Travis N. Taylor, Ph.D., is the Senior Market Research Analyst at the Foundation for Government Accountability, where he conducts polling and focus groups of voters to make sure their voices are heard in the halls of power.
Prior to joining FGA, he was a qualitative researcher at a market research firm and has managed or consulted on more than 80 political campaigns since 2009. In addition, he is the founder of Strategic Insights Research, LLC, a public opinion research group that conducts quantitative and qualitative public opinion research and analysis for political candidates and litigants. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Louisiana, a Master of Professional Studies in Political Management from the George Washington University, and a Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Kentucky.
Travis has published the results of scientific research in peer-reviewed scholarly journals such as Critique, Journal of Law & Courts, and Judicature. His commentary and media contributions can be found in CQ Roll Call, The Washington Times, Wisconsin State Journal, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Louisville Courier-Journal, and others. He has testified in front of both the Ohio House of Representatives and Ohio State Senate.
Travis first experienced the value of work while working two jobs—as a YMCA lifeguard and at McDonald’s—in high school. To him, work honors our Creator because work is one of the purposes for which we were created by God. Scripture records that God Himself demonstrated to us the value of putting in an honest day’s work, and He commands us to do the same. Travis believes that the reason we find freedom in work is that, by working, we are fulfilling God’s design for our lives, and he wants to help others find that freedom.
When he’s not working, Travis is active in his church; is on the board of directors for a homeless services organization; and enjoys cycling, hiking, and reading. A fan of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns football, Kentucky Wildcats basketball, and Chicago Cubs baseball, Travis, his wife, two sons, and two Boxer dogs, live in Cincinnati, Ohio.DOWNLOAD BIO SHEET
