Maggie Harrell

Federal Affairs Director

America is the greatest country in the history of the world because we value personal liberty, and FGA’s work is tangibly improving people’s lives by preserving and expanding freedom. I’m grateful to be part of a team dedicated to freeing individuals from government dependency so they can achieve their unique version of the American Dream.

About Maggie

Maggie Harrell is the Federal Affairs Director at the Foundation for Government Accountability.

Prior to joining FGA, Maggie worked on Capitol Hill and most recently served as deputy chief of staff and senior counsel to Congressman Chip Roy. She also served as chief counsel and worked for several senators on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Earlier in her career, she served as a judicial law clerk and held management positions on presidential, gubernatorial, and congressional campaigns across the country. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Auburn University and earned a Juris Doctor degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law.

Maggie first experienced the value of work on her family farm. Her father instilled in her the importance of doing all things with excellence, whether feeding cows or drafting an appellate brief before the Alabama Supreme Court. To her, work means empowering people to use their unique gifts to achieve their own version of the American Dream.

When she’s not working, Maggie loves reading, traveling, spending time with her family on their farm in Alabama, and volunteering with her church’s children’s ministry. A fan of the Auburn Tigers, Maggie lives in Washington, D.C.
