David Craig

Senior Legal Fellow

President Reagan once said that ‘as government expands, liberty contracts.’ FGA is fighting every day to preserve the American Dream and individuals’ freedom to pursue that dream by ensuring the government’s reach is limited. I’m proud to join in the effort to ensure the American Dream is here both today and in the future.

About David

David is a Senior Legal Fellow at the Foundation for Government Accountability.

Prior to joining FGA, he was an attorney in private practice and a legal researcher for a pro-freedom think tank. He previously served in the Wisconsin legislature as a member of both the State Assembly and the State Senate while also working in his family’s real estate firm. In addition to state service, David worked as an aide for U.S. Congressman Paul Ryan. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He is a member of the Wisconsin State Bar.

David first experienced the value of work while cleaning construction sites for his parents’ construction business. There he saw how bad government policy made family entrepreneurship more difficult. To him, work is the means of achieving economic freedom and liberty for families across our country. While in the legislature, David helped enact numerous pro-freedom policies. He chaired the Assembly Committee on Financial Institutions and the Senate Committee on Insurance, Financial Services, Constitution, and Federalism. He has made numerous media appearances.

When he’s not working, David loves to read, fish, hunt, and play sports with his kids. He and his wife live in southeast Wisconsin with their six children.
