New Video Highlights the Value of Work in Ending Dependency

Naples, FL – A new video released today by the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) highlights the importance of encouraging individuals and families to realize the value of work in breaking the cycle of dependency.

The video, “Executive Excellence: Governor Scott Walker and the Value of Work”, showcases Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s commitment to reducing government dependency by promoting work. FGA applauds Gov. Walker’s efforts to restore independence and improve the lives of families throughout Wisconsin.

“There’s a lot of people who want to work, but the government has put up a lot of barriers. When someone has a job, there’s peace of mind and there’s pride. We want to empower people to experience that,” said Walker. “In Wisconsin, we’re not making it harder for people to get government assistance—we’re making it easier to get a job.”

FGA is committed to commonsense solutions to the trap of government dependency. Work requirements have been proven to move able-bodied adults—those with children and without—off of welfare by quickly increasing their salaries, leaving them better off than they had been on welfare.

The Foundation for Government Accountability is a non–profit, multi–state think tank that specializes in health care, welfare, and work reform. To learn more, visit TheFGA.org.
